Hello all,
I have been thinking about setting up a simple e-gold (well, any GBC with low
enough transaction fees) lottery. Sell say 100 tickets (for say 0.01 grams),
hold a random draw, and pay the winners e-gold account 0.90 grams.
So, the first thing I

Yes, you are missing a particularly obvious reference:
I think some people are missing something as regards the gold bars,
the weight thereof.
These gold bars are similar to security on a loan. While they do
sometimes bail new ones in (or out), this is not their main
intention. If you put these gold bars in a vault in London and the

It's called SirCam.
See here for a pretty good explanation:
That's how life is. The realgoldlotto.com was an utter flop. The
other two well-made attempts at doing a e-gold lottery were also
utter flops -- one just closed down recently.
I don't know what Real Gold Lotto's setup was but the other two attempts
(e-lottery Golden Raffle) were flawed

of the microspends:
I've been researching an article about e-gold for Wired magazine (*not*
Wired News), and in the interest of science I invested about 2/3 of a gram

More data nuggets from this reporter's notebooks:
For my upcoming Wired article, I had the opportunity to accompany an Ernst

vault maintained by the Transguard security company. As part of this visit,

So there hasn't yet been a good example of online lottery to point to and
say 'They failed because nobody wants to play in online lottos.' While
they were well-intentioned, they weren't well-made.
I disagree. RealGoldLotto was excellent. They paid-out a high percentage of
the money collected,
The total gross weight of those bars is 22,937.622 ounces.
The total *fine* weight of the bars (gross weight minus the non-gold
impurities mixed in with the gold) is 22,933.139.
That would be an average fineness of 99.98%; LBMA only requires 99.5%.

We've now hit 100,000 Gold-Funded accounts. However, the number of accounts
with over 10 grams has fallen a bit in the past couple of weeks to 11,236

'almost' 400ozs each.

As I said, I didn't know what Real Gold Lotto's setup was. I was basing my
analysis on the two that I knew about.
The problem was, nobody played.
That isn't neccesarily indicative of all online lottos though.
question though: Why did they leave over
