I decided to upgrade from 2.5.1 to 2.5.2 and discovered that once again Endian
has released binaries without the corresponding source. I found at least 65
packages in the ISO that don't have corresponding SRC rpms in the tar file
uploaded to sourceforge.

I'm just finishing up changes to the VPN support in EFW Community 2.5.1.
It includes the following improvements:
* Add Xauth support to IPsec for host-net connections
* Proper IPsec operation when initiator is behind NAT
* L2TP PSK and Certificate
* Xauth/L2TP User configurat
I've created some new repositories for EFW Community 2.5.1.
There are three repositories: release, updates, and addons. Each repository has
two actual repositories, one for RPMs, the other for SRPMs.
The release repository just contains the binary RPMs you get when you use the

I think the kernel is the least of the issues, I believe all the pieces are
already built by the Development Environment but
the RPMS aren't installed and there is no UI provided by Endian. This means
that even if you get all the pieces installed
you will need to manually edit the configuration

This is the symptom when the installer has been built with the wrong version of
libsmooth.
This version of the developer environment uninstalls any previous libsmooth
before starting to
build the packages, it then patches, builds and installs the new libsmooth
before building the
installer.

The problem is that while the kernel has been updated, the C runtime (glibc)
which includes the
headers and kernel entry point stubs hasn't been updated.
Until glibc is updated with a current version you won't be able to build it.

I'm not sure what has happened in the past. I just recently stumbled onto
EFW. However, in reading messages on the various forums and browsing the
bugs in Mantis, I got the impression that some people were dissatisfied with
the support provided.
I recently spoke with Endian and I very much beli

Not hard at all for a developer ;-)
The biggest problem is getting an appropriate SRPM, once you have one it is as
simple as:
1) Copy the new clamav-X-Y.src.rpm to the appropriate directory in the
SRPM_SEARCH_PATH.
2) rm `find_rpm clamav`
3 ) rpmbuild --rebuild --target i586-pc-linux `find_

I've put together a new development environment for EFW Community that allows
you to build all the packages from the SRPMs uploaded to SourceForge. It can
also build a new installation ISO.
It consists of a number of scripts and configuration files. However due to the
