Hi Gang, Failed to mention that when the filter switches above 2.1KHz, the tone moves up the band and ditto when above 2.7KHz, the tone moves up a few KHz on the bandannoying to say the least...so the problem may be somewhere else in the K3. Tom/k1tl... __

Chris: On my rig's (#3192) return from Aptos for the replacement of the Quad Encoders, I received the same error. I tried to initiate tune output and the tune button would send out a 6.5w carrier when set to 10w, then switch back to receive, but the TX LED would stay on. It didnt do this before.

I can't say for sure about 21017, but several of the K3 birdies tune in "reverse". And the subreceiver seems to be much better shielded than the main receiver. The birdies in the subsreceiver are much weaker and many of those heard in the main receiver are not detectable in the subreceiver.

The problem seems to be inherent to the K3 itself and not the cabling as I moved them around and the tone does not move at all. Upon that, just wondering if "loose hardware" (i.e., screws, standoffs, etc) could be causing the problem. Right now, it is not a show stopper, just a little annoyance

Hi Elecrafters: I am a relatively new K3 user and operate 90% CW and the rest SSB and PSK. I note that the monitor level for CW and SSB can be adjusted independently, which is fine. On CW I always use headphones. But when I operate SSB, I sometimes use headphones and sometimes a loudspeaker.

Aha, looking at it more closely, I now see that it it only happens when PB CTRL is set to SHIFT=.01, in either CW or DATA mode. Oops! I just re-read the firmware release notes for MCU version 3.25, which say that CONFIG:PB CTRL is not compatible with CONFIG:SIG RMV. No doubt that's the problem
