[Elecraft] K3 Firmware program and Virtual serial port

Brian, Depends entirely on the software between the virtual serial port presented to Utility and the physical port connected to the radio. For example, I have a MicroHam interface box and it cannot be reliably used when performing a K3 firmware load because it attempts to interpret the data

Hi Ken: There is a Heathkit forum you could try this question out on. From what I have been reading, 10-12W is a little low on the power curve for the amp and getting it tuned up would place some stress on it. When I use it, mine likes to run at 50-60W input from my K3. Gives me approx 500-600W

Yes, you can bypass the KXAT3 tuner so it is out of the circuit. You will probably find the KXAT3 has at least the same matching range as the SGC. They are both efficient L-network tuners. Depending upon the one you buy, the SGC can be installed and operated remotely. Not all "tuners" are create
