Peter,
Could you use a fancy Band Decoder that provides auxiliary outputs based
on operating frequency (not band)? Use the auxiliary outputs to
automatically enable/disable the Palstar tuner when your 40 and 80
operating frequencies require. Otherwise keep the Palstar out of
circuit.

Has anyone interfaced a set of DC H7030 headsets to a K3? If so, what
were the results? Did they work, how did they sound on receive and
transmit? I have inherited a set, and am considering using them, and
looking for thoughts on this prior to getting them connected...

I recently purchased a KPA-1500 amplifier. I would like to be able to turn on
the amplifier remotely. The manual says to apply 12v to the REM jack. I was
wondering if anyone is doing this and what they are using to apply the 12 volts.

Some do this with an RCA cable from the K3 rear panel 12v line to the amp REM
connector. The amp turns on and off with the rig. Current draw is minimal; you
can also use the same K3 12v to power your P3.

Chokes are not directional. Check your board for solder bridges and let us
know what find. Since the board is mostly discreet parts, start looking at
the battery connection and work your way into the circuitry. Is a part
blackened, or very dark?

I have been operating with FT8 and WSPR lately. Both use an audio-generated
digital signal just like any AFSK mode. I tune up my transmitter to show
4-5 bars on ALC. Everything seems to work at first, but after one or two
transmissions the display shows only one bar on the left and one on the
right
I love this idea, but there's one problem, though. I only have one coax line
leading out of the shack. It runs from the Palstar (or it could run from the
KPA-1500) to the input of my antenna switch. I have 5 antennas connected off
that--three Yagis, and the 80m vee off the tower, and a 160 inverted

Second, is anyone using a W8ZR station Pro 2 with the K3?
Just bought a station Pro2 and wanting to set it up for my
multiple k3 set up. Looking to run USB through the Pro2
to switch to each radio.
If I remember correctly, the KX3 can show zero bars when
overdriven. I's easy to check. Just bring the level up slowly
from zero and check that the ALC rises slowly.
Remember that there are at least 3 AF level controls. The one in
the program, the OS level control, and the knob on the KX3.
