Nothing wrong with the 7300. For less than a grand, it outperforms just about everything else ... certainly in its price class. Is it a K4? Hardly. But it is a well-designed, well-built true SDR workhorse. I've had one for 3 years and it has been flawless in performance and durability.

Also, it's a good idea to smear some "never-seize" compound on threaded surfaces, especially on the larger antenna mounting hardware. SS hardware has a tendency to "gall" ( I think that's the correct term) which results from the heat generated by excess friction between the mating surfaces. The
