I learned draftmanship in high school indusrial arts beginning in 1966. I was
good enough ar it that I was asked in my senior year to do detailed
construction drawings for the annual project of the machine shop, even though I

Hello,
after doing some refurbishing (changing rotten connectors, cleaning,...) I was
curious if changing the RIT encoder will make the RIT work again. But it
doesn't.

OK, I've really dated myself now.
Anyone remember "drafting"? A favorite class in high school: blueprints,
mechanical drawings, schematics, straight edges, hand lettering, projections
and elevations. We invented things to draw that weren't real, but looked like
they should be. Did all the math
Check the AuxIO cables. They carry the band data from the K3 to the KPA500
(BAND0-3 signals). If they are not connected correctly or either cable is
damaged, I would expect the behavior you describe.
The AuxIO cable goes from the K3 to the KAT500, then another from the KAT500 to
the KPA500. Be s
Still won’t fix why the amp and radio are losing sync.

I have my K3-KAT500-KPA500 working great. The amp is off to the left side
and I can't see the display easily. while working on building an auto
antenna switch I noticed that the band display on the amp does not synch
with the K3. It seems to be random. If I hit one dit on the key the amp

Don, you’re right on about those West Mountain Com Speakers. I’ve had a pair
on my K3S since day one and I wouldn’t trade them for anything.
My wife got me a second pair and I use them with my KX2 when I’m operating on
my back deck. Sure makes the KX2’s receiver sound super good.
Jim, W0EB
Since the K3 has stereo output, I suggest you look at the West Mountain
Radio ComSpeakers. They do a good job.
My K3 had 2 Radio Shack mini speakers on it, and the KX3 uses the
ComSpeakers. Great in all respects.

Regardless of radio, my go to is the black Motorola mobile speakers (~5"

Robie/Joe,
So what you are telling me is that my wife is correct, I'm oblivious to
everything that goes on around me. I could have sworn this was something new
happening. Thanks.

Thanks Ben, I didn't think of that. Now when the KBPF3 is not inst There is
no difference in signal level when transitioning from 1.700 to 1.69. And
when I set the KBPF3 to nor (and reboot) there is a definite drop of 5-7 S
units at the 1.700 transition point and also at the the 2.11 to 2
Which radio?
With respect to the K3 I would recommend use of external speakers. They can
improve comfort for longer listening periods.
I am a personal fan of the Sounds Sweet communications speakers. Unfortunately
although the web page remains open they have not been selling them for years..
Get a replacement from Elecraft.

Howdy Gang.
Getting excited now that my K4 should be shipping in the next several weeks.
After all, the Mother Ship said that the Group 1 orders will be filled by the
end of May (this May—grin).
And I'm in Group 1 sooo………I’ll believe it when I see it (grin).
Any K4’s shipped recently?

Or, is something wrong?
No

You probably have WSJTX Settings -> Radio -> Split Operation
set to "Radio"
With Split Operation WSJTX will shift the transmit frequency +/- 1 KHz
as necessary to keep the audio tone in the 1500-2000 Hz
I don't know how long this has been going on (wow, sounds like a song lyric),
but each time WSJT keys up my KX3, the transmit frequency shifts down 500hz.
For example, the standard 30m FT8 freq of 10.136 000 shifts down to 10.135 500.
The freq shift shows on the KX3 vfo B and the WSJT screen. It
