I can confirm that updating to the latest WSJT-X fixes the issue.
I had the some problem, and it was particular to the K3. I had no delay
with the KX2, for instance.

I'm running WSJT-X v2.5.0. Earlier versions did have a delay on
transmit issue. For WSJT-X RADIO settings, I use MODE as Data/Pkt and
for SPLIT I use Fake It. The radio operates is in DATA A mode. I do
run CAT control and not VOX for PTT. Running the latest updated version
of Windows 1
Direct Frequency Entry obviates the need to even touch the main dial, much less
crank it.
