Hi Don,
I just tried the same Macro (TU DON CWA) and sent it a few dozen times and it
completes each time with no problem. Have you tried re-entering the Macro in
another Macro slot. Can you describe what happens when it stalls? Does the
displayed text in the text fields complete?
David,
Hi Randy,
You are using an older revision of the K3 Utility. The first thing I would try
would be to download the most current revision of the Utility (1.19.9.6) and
see if that solves the problem. If this doesn’t help, I would suspect that your
usb/serial link between your Mac and the K3s may
Yep, you're good. Sometimes the window position can get hosed. Not sure why.
That's why I added that menu item.
Glad we figured it out!

Hi John,
Does the K3 Utility menu appear at the top of the screen when you double click
the app? Are you sure you’re clicking on the actual app and not the .ZIP file?
Have you tried a reboot? The most current version (1.19.9.6) should run fine on
Catalina.

Hi Don,
Are you seeing the K3 Utility menu at the top of the screen when you start the
app? If so, click Window -> Set To Default Position and see if that helps. If
not, we’ll have to try something else.

Hi Walt,
There's no need to update the KPA1500 Utility to update the firmware. Click the
"Copy New Files from Elecraft" button to download the new firmware to your
computer, then click "Send Firmware to KPA1500".

Hello Tim,
You are right. The W2 Utility is used mainly for updating the firmware. I
believe you are looking for the W2 Interface software. The new web site doesn't
appear to have a link on the software page, but by typing "W2" in the Search
box I was able to find it. Scroll about half way
Hi Christer,
You want the FTDI VCP Drivers, not the D2XX. As Jack mentioned, the FTDI
drivers are now provided by Apple and are included in all versions since OS X
10.9. You should uninstall the D2XX drivers.
Also try deleting the KX3 Utility app, and it's preferences file, and download

Yes.. No worries. All new releases of the Mac and Linux versions of the
Elecraft Utilities will be 64-bit. As a result, OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) will
no longer be supported and users of 32-bit Linux will need to upgrade to a

Make sure the k3util Libs and Help directories are in the same location as
the k3util executable binary. The working directory should contain:

It sounds like you may have moved the binary away from the Libs directory.

Hi Mel,

I suspect that the PX3 and KX3 Utility are both using the TB; command to poll

a TB; command, this would cause bad copy on both the PX3 and KX3 Utility. Text

probably okay if the K3 is reporting 1.16.
