The Ethernet port is long overdue. Although, having tried to implement
that in a PIC myself, I can tell you it is a lot more challenging in a PIC
controller than it is on a PC. Still I would love it. The pigtail is okay

Well, I guess it is new to me. I did not know it was used so long ago.
Why not 8 tonesbecause I have trouble decoding 2 in my head.
I hope everyone enjoyed the diversion. I figured that this group, being a

A new digital mode that can be sent and received without a computer. You
just have to learn it.

I personally have tried about 5 different adapters. Even USB-RS232 adapters
from with the same chip set different sources seem to function differently.
It took 5 adapters before I found one that would work with my laptop.

You are certainly right that there would need to be some intelligence added
in on the hardware side. Some of the newer pic controllers like the

functionality built into the controller and there are libraries for the

There are several free software applications that emulate an rs-232 port and
send the rs-232 commands to a configured ethernet IP address and port.
They work very similar to LP Bridge, but they allow you to forward the
communication to the ethernet port. Once the software is installed it

I had been out of the hobbyor maybe I should say, "less

This is just a guess, but the most likely scenario I can think of is that
the Software is getting a connection to a com port that is not the K3.
Maybe you could try disabling any other com ports through device manager
and then try to start the K3 utility. If it is connecting to another com

I don't think it comes with the amp. It is just a cable with RCA

do. Some claim it should be shielded cable, but I have used

So does the receive antenna have to be on the aux port of the Receive Ant.,

of my verticals. I switched to ant1 (my second vertical) and I could barely
make out the signal. While still set to ant1 I switched to diversity
receive and I still could barely hear the signal in either ear. I then
