I wonder how many of the P3 have been sold to date or promised as the case may
be. I'm beginning to squirm in my chair but i like to wait a bit on a new
product to see what kind of problems show up and how they are going to be
resolved. Sure looks nice though.
Be interesting to hear some
In chasing my audio at the Line out jacks problem i noticed that when i turn on
the Sub rx i get a GF error and then the frequency display shows the dialed
frequency. It's just there momentarily. This has been happening for some time
but i forgot about it.
Today for some reason i noticed
Aha! Another fellow who experiences the same thing i do:
I quote:
Unfortunately, when I have to adjust audio level with the
radio's volume pot(s), all the other levels downstream also
change (line out is controlled by the volume pot)
It certainly would be nice to have a FIXED level out of that
There is a Line Out level adjustment in the K3 configuration menu. Set it to
NOR mode (fixed-level output, does not change with AF Gain control) and
set the output level to about 7 (pretty low). This avoids distortion caused
by too hot an output level into the sound card.

Well even after a period of time i'm still fighting the audio out problem.
Couple of things i've figured out are that the main receiver AF gain control
affects the audio at the line out jack and the Config:line out adjustment
affects the line out audio when the sub rx is on, but the Main rx AF
I use both the VE7CC cluster and the VHFDX.net as well but the VHFDX.net page
has some drawbacks. Yes it does show you where the band is open to but those
lines may be out of date, excessive time displayed. I've made postings to it
and came back half an hour later and they were still shown.
I have IE something or other and don't use it. I also have Firefox on here
which i used to use all the time. Then it got to the point where it
continually asked me about pop-up blocker and do you want Firefox to remember
this password. I got tired of trying to fix both problems so now i use
For those of you who were sleeping or writing comments to the list here this
morning, 6 meters was open in the grandest i've seen it in years. Hundreds of
paths from the SE thru the NW part of the country working into Europe and even
the middle east. Unfortunately it didn't get into western
One of the things to keep in mind is that having a receiver to hot is not
always good. It's kind of like a repeater that has either a hot receiver and
low power transmitter or poor receiver and a high power transmitter. Sometimes
called the Alligator syndrome.
You might be able to hear them
I've got some local noise around here that sounds like a water heater or sorts
or something along that line. Anyway it's really giving me fits on 6 meters.
I ahve to run the NB almost all the time and that distorts the signals and
sometimes it doesn't even clean up the noise. Doesn't matter
