That is FT8. There is no involvement once the contact starts. That is
the beauty of it. The automation is no legal in the USA and many
other places but I doubt it will be addressed much like excessive

How is it any different than the RTTY setups used for DXpeditions that
would do essentially the same thing, listen over a wide range and stack
the calls heard? FT8 just allows them to complete 1 to 5 contacts at

I don't think that is correct. Nothing touches the TCXO, the VCTRL pin
is not used. The EXREF module just reads the actual ref frequency and
that information is used to set up the synths. As the TCXO drifts the
synths just use the new measured ref frequency.

I experienced the same issue on my kx3 also. I was able to tighten it down
enough with a wrench to keep it snug so far, but still keep an eye on it. I
also thought abt locktite but didn't like the idea of introducing non
conductive material between the case and the jack.

While in CW mode, I typically listen with the filter wide open (2.8khz). Once I
find a signal, I narrow the filter down (400hz) by tapping the AF knob after

this behavior.
