Completed K3S/100 build with KRX3A and K144XV-2. All gain calibration tests
good. Firmware updated.
I have RF (noise) in SP1 with key down on all bands and all modes except CW.
Any similar experience and "fix" would be appreciated.

RF problem resolved. Lesson learned: station grounding issues just as important
at work bench as they are are main station location when evaluating certain
operational parameters. DUH.

Thanks, Ron. Did all suggested and ensured every screw and bolt tightened.
Reseated transformer and really tightened down. Unfortunately, same hum on CW;
even with less than 10W drive.
Back to the drawing board.

ause there has been a bad reputation of RF issues with the
mic, you can usually pick up used ones pretty inexpensively and if it hasn't
been modified, it's an easy fix (15 min) to do so. Also, the same pinouts make
the Kenwood mic a "plug and play."

Yes. had the problem. Crazy loud hum / buzz. Bad transformer I was told.
All quiet on the eastern front now. If it is a bad transformer it can be fixed
but you’ll have to eat the shipping charge.

Get yourself a good pair of pointed tweezers. They will help your sanity as you
pick various size screws from whatever multi compartment carrier you segment
them the into.

50Hz but its consistent. I was gonna have to Elecraft team look at it in their
lab the next time I send the rig in (if I send it in). Aside from that I’m
living with the 50Hz delta.

First use of AX1 today in New York’s Adirondack Mountains. KX3, CW, 20M and <
10W. Special event station LZ497OM, Bulgaria, about 5K miles.
Pretty amazing given the fact the station was work numerous NA and Europe
stations. Now that’s serious fun!

Prefer the W4OP loop due to ruggedness and remote tune feature. Yes, its
heavier but how many of us actually hike to the top of a big mountain?
What would be great, however, would be a mag loop that the KX2 or KX3 could
