I may be oversimplifying the problem, but here's my experience
in aligning my K2. I happened to remember reading some very
old QST articles about a device used to get stations precisely on
the net control's frequency during net operations. It was a very
simple 1KHz tone generator. The NCS station

Question 1: I'm thinking about buying all the transverter kits,
and remember that some folks said something about a heat
problem. Has Elecraft made any modifications to make them
run cooler?
Question 2: All my amps require 10 watts input- 20~25
watts would probably damage them. My 432 amp only
Just finished the conversion of my K2 to a K2/100. On SSB, power
seems quite robust, with my wattmeter showing 70~80 watts on voice
peaks (I would have expected about 40~50). On CW, I'm only getting
about 40~50 watts dead key (I would have expected 100). It seems

I don't really want to get into it with others on
this subject, but I was in a friendly discussion

using an internet link to an HF set, and began
investigating the legality of such operation. I
posed a question to the ARRL regulatory branch

I think I forgot to remove the capacitor! I did remove the jumpers
but I don't see C167 anywhere on my bench. It's gotta be the
problem!
Thanks! -Web
When you install the KSB2 in the K2, there is a capacitor and two
jumpers that need to be removed. Did you skip that step? It's easy to
band. Elecraft, THANKS!!!
