Have you considered the Piglet by pignoly.net ?
The Piglet provides CAT via WiFi.

Hi folks.
Just wondering how you go about charging the Elecraft supplied Lithium Ion
batteries for the KX2 from a car (13.8V) supply?
Are there recommended chargers for this? The Tenergy charger supplied by
Elecraft runs from 100-240V range.

What are the IMD figures when running 20-25W driving a linear amp. such as
the KPA500?

Some off-list correspondence with Mel K6KBE and Brian K3KO made me realize
that the KO6BB design at the second link posted is superior and I will
proceed with building along those lines.

I wonder if the following is something that is possible to implement via a
change in firmware:
Allow an antenna to be active on RX Out regardless of whether the K3 is
turned on or not?

Thanks Jim.
I forgot to mention that I was aware of your survey in terms of CW signal
purity.
Even though I'm personally most interested in CW I wonder if there is any
recent two tone SSB tests that's been published?

In any case I guess the K3S has better TX IMD due to the new PA design.

As long as you buy a new KRX3-A I guess it would come with a KSYN3A.

Thanks for the info Lyle. Interesting!
I must study the KPA500 design.
I find it a bit embarrassing having assembled the KPA500 without having
more fundamental insight into its design.

However, I got no comment on the operating class of the amplifier on CW or
whether it depends on what mode you are operating the K3. Anyone?

630W. Drive for this 29W on 12m.
What class is the amplifier operating in on CW? Does the class depend on
mode? I'm using the KPAK3AUX cable.
The operating temperature seems to remain close to 50C.
