also? If you have the KPA100, has it been updated with the KPA100UPKT -
if updated, was C31 changed to 0.22 uf during the upgrade? Many
questions that I must know before venturing an intelligent comment.

For sale: my Elecraft KPA100/KAT100 combo. It's built in an EC2

I made a few recordings of some noise that I hear on 40m tonight. The
.wav files can be downloaded at the address below. I have no idea what's
causing this noise, or how to filter it out. Is this the type of noise
that the KDSP2 or KNB2 could remove?
Thanks,
Zac

A few days ago, I plugged in some headphones to my K2 and noticed that
the internal speaker didn't immediately cut out. I wiggled the
headphone plug around a bit inside the jack, and after a second or so,
the internal speaker turned off. Yesterday, when I plugged my
headphones in, the same th
e problem lies somewhere in the KAT2. However,
all of the tests in the manual check out. That is, until I cycle thru
the bands after the power calibration.
Any ideas?

Fellow K2 builders,
Well my K2 has been up and running now for about 2 weeks. I finished
building the KAT2 last week and finally put up an antenna that should be
able to work 80 - 20m this weekend. My previous antenna was a 20m attic
mounted horizontal loop fed with coax. The new one is a 1
away from anything that would imbalance it, and would hate to mess
that up now. This is my first experience with balanced line :)
Thanks,
Zac

In that
case you need to get a very big DPDT knife switch (Military surplus
outlets carry them) so that you can switch an alternate section in or
out to change the length of your line for different bands.

Another question - do you have the K60XV installed. If you do, change R6 in
the KAT2 to 470 ohms as indicated in the K60XV manual. Without the K60XV,
the 47 ohm value for R6 is OK.

Hello,
After reading thru the troubleshooting section of the manual, I reheated the
solder joints at Q6 & Q7. Unfortunately, nothing changed. It is as if the K2 is
always muted, except when in menu mode after "Atu" is selected. I read thru

the button the second time, the audio goes away.
What am I doing wrong?

Hello,
I'm working on getting the control board together.
I'm on C38. I have a small blue capacitor labeled "581J COG100",
but don't see one labeled 681 (the manual says C38 should be 681).
Is 581 the correct capacitor for C38?
Thanks,
