since some days I experienced a malfunction with the SUB RX. When I
engage the SUB RX, there is no audio. I can hear the typical relay
clicks. A power cycle sometimes seemed to cure the issue, but IIRC there
were also occasion when this did not help.
Anybody had the same issue, any id

The latency is ok with BT aptX. You should look for the BT adapter
supporting it plus the headphones. Sometimes they just say "lower
latency" but this is not aptX. See here for more info:

The resistance checks are meant to measure at U13 after being placed and
soldered. It is not a component check, but it will check if you have
done the placement and soldering of all the connected stuff correctly.
IAW, a different value could mean you did a mistake somewhere else.

PX3-utility. If that does not work, it could be an unstable power supply
issue (0,5A ~12V required).
Otherwise I suppose there is a loose connection inside of the P3. You

while preparing my gear for WWDX I noticed that the P3 started to freeze
the display for about 1 second, than continues to work for 2-3 seconds,
then freezes, and so on. Very annoying to look at.
I disconnected all cables and traced it down to the

I just bought a used K144XV. My K3 side plate does not have the 3 holes
for the holding screws.
Does anybody has the layout of these holes available, so at least I
could drill them by myself? I guess have no other choices.

Make sure you have no equalizing in the audio output somewhere (that is
important for any transceiver, btw). Also check the SSBA and SSBC
options in the menu, maybe the selected compression ratio is not ideal
for FT8. See KSB2 manual regarding "PowerControl and ALC".

I'm doing lots of QRP, but my joy of ham radio comes from the freedom of

As an example, on June 28th I worked ZL4TT on 20ms with QRP on my second

Check where pin 1 is located and that is the IC side with the notch.
Also check U8 for reversal, this could pull down the I2C lines to the

Hello everybody,
during the WPX contest I noticed some weird sounds in the K2 when tuning
to strong (>S9+20db) stations.
The sound was distorted, kind of ripple, but it did not sound like
typical ringing.
I also noticed LZ9W booming in on 80m with S9+40db, producing 3 images
in the K2 and the K
Since I couldn't find anything in the manual, I downloaded the latest
manual from the elecraft web site.
Voila - here we go: CW-to-data cannot be used in CW hand mode - which I
used in the setup with the microham keyer...

Friedrichshafen. From what I understood, you don't need the mod because
you can either operate on VHF or on HF. The mod makes sense if you have
another VHF radio which you like to operate in parallel to the KX3.

Indeed, 2 Cells were completely dead, but after increasing the supplied
voltage to 14V the charging started. Hopefully all cells are still alive!
Alan, where did you get that valuable information re 14.5V from? I
couldn't find anything in the manual.

I get an "bat Err" message if I want to charge my battery pack on the KX3.
The battery (NiMh) seems to be very low, as the KX3 doesn't start with
them. The LEDs light up shortly then nothing.
But if powered externally, I'd expect I get my battery recharged.

I used the KX3 with FW 1.47/DSP 1.19 during WPX CW quite a lot. About
500 Qs on the KX3, 400Qs using the K2.
The KX3 features which outperform the K2 (and many other radios likewise

My ATU does this click whenever SWR becomes bad and switches between
"AK105001" and "AK145801". Not a bug, but a feature as it seems, to keep
SWR low.

During ARRL-DX - running 5 watts - I noticed a faint click in the KX3,
occassionally. I tried to reproduce but couldn't. Later I noticed the
ATU-sign was blinking briefly after the click.
I checked SWR, but KX3 says 1:1, and a quick ATU- tune confirms the 1:1.
