Who pays for hats that are given away? In the end, the customers do, of
course. Elecraft has small, informative, cost effective magazine ads that
maximize the return on their advertising budget by targeting their niche
market.
They don't have broad product lines as the Japanese companies do, so
I think Elecraft should give out P3 hats when they start taking P3 orders.

I don't think I would want just a K3 hat. I would really like an Elecraft hat.
I have a number of their shirts and wear them at Field Day and to the ARES
meetings. The problem with having a K3 hat is the folks at Elecraft would also
need to order K1 hats, K2 hats, KX1 hats, plus hats for each
Despite what must be hectic times at Elecraft with the development of
the K3, support for their existing line is still going strong.
Around labor day, I ordered probably 10 kits from Elecraft. Many were
mini-modules but there were a few kits for my newly built K2 #6233.

Hello Everyone,
Just a BIG plug for the K2!
I just finished up K2 S/N 5615 with several accessories: KPA100; KNB2; KIO2;
KSB2, and KDSP2. This rig - my second K2 - runs like a champ.
Except for one loose wire clipping that found its way into the speaker cone and
buzzed/rattled incessantly,
I am still in awe of the very unique engineering of the K-2. I hope to work
as many of other elekraft hams at the next SEA-DuBya(CW) contest.
