Thanks for all the replies to my original question below. Had a closer look
at what I have and the 'cleaner' is the D100L (Caig). I got them both from a
HiFi supplier in the UK in 2ml squeeze tubes...about £5 a throw but it goes
a long way!

using deoxit over the years it has been found to be excellent but after some
years after its application issues have arisen mostly due to over
application. Some time ago, to solve this we switched from the 100%

standard cleaner and Deoxit Gold. According to the instructions the cleaner
cleans(!) and the Gold is applied post cleaning to prevent any subsequent
oxidation/tarnishing. Wonder which everyone's using..?

I have never had such problems with my K2 which uses a front
panel/control unit coupled to the main board with connectors.
It does seem a design modification is desirable for the K3.

To further the discussion I use Corrosion X on everything electrical. I have
two charter boats and it works. No debate intended and I am not suggesting
Corrosion X is better than Deoxit, just putting the information out there.
