Very many thanks to everyone who responded to my request for help. Happily
the fault turned out to be something very simple. Rob at Elecraft suggested
the LPA FETs may have failed as the current measurements I had taken
indicated the FETs were not drawing the bias current they should be. I
checked
Check that TX INHIBIT is off in the menu.

Hi Bill,The rig does not produce any RF out in any mode. Everything
looks normal on the display, LEDs etc, the rig keys via mic or paddle but just
no RF.Some have suggested a bad internal cable connection or bad board edge
connector. I am working my way through those.
DOES k3 xmit ssb with a mic in usb ?
what mode ( TXDATA) are you using ...
usually when I have that symptom, turns out that computer sound card is
NOT putting out TX audio to rig.

I had a problem with no output, but the radio was keying. I reseated all
cables going to the synthesizer, and rf output returned.

Hi,
I have had a fault develop on my K3 whereby there is no RF being produced. I
have emailed the details to Elecraft support and am hoping to receive a
reply with suggestions. However, I thought I would also send the details
here in case anyone can suggest something to try or investigate
Check your TMP cable connections.

Dear Readers,
i made a water damage of my K3. Meanwhile Receiver is working again, after some
repairs.
But there is still no RF output.
Main symptom is, that in case of TX (key down in CW) i find at J7 (8.215 MHz
TXIF1) a 8.230MHz signal, but no signal passing the filter, expected
Scott,
Try running TX Gain Calibration with K3 Utility. If that fails, try
running it on 30 meters manually (see the manual for the procedure).
If it still fails contact Elecraft K3support.

Hello to the list!
I fired up my K3 tonight for the first time in months to try to work K5P
and the VP8 expeditions. Thing seemed to be working fine until I tried
working the VP8 on 30 meters. I noticed while sending that I didn't have
much output on 30 meters. Investigating, I get output
That should read KPA3, not KPA100.

I am getting 0 RF output from my K3 on all bands regardless of the commanded
power level. Pressing the TX button results in -- where the SWR would
normally be displayed.
Any suggestions or ideas on how to resolve this issue are greatly
appreciated.

It means TX Inh(ibit) has been activated. Check your menu setting.

Todd,
I experienced the same problem a couple of months ago. I never noticed a
fault, but maybe it did it, and I didn't notice.
I emailed Gary (supp...@elecraft.com) and tried the EE INIT including
reloading previously saved configurations. I ended up sending the radio
(S/N 3598) in. Keith
but as stated now there is no RF being produced at all. Thanks
again and it looks like a trip to Elecraft for the K3.
Todd
