The plan for Pin 11 (I understand) is to eventually inhibit the KPA500 when
pressing TUNE on the K3 so that you can tune a manal or auto-tuner at low power
without having to remember to manually put the KPA500 in standby first. My
understanding is that this will be in a future K3 firmware

Just for completeness, it's per-band x per-ANT1/ANT2.
I'd like some confirmation of this. I can see in the KPA500 manual (rev A,
page 16) that pin 11 of the AUX connector is INHIBIT#. That's fine. Pin 11
on the K3 AUX connector is DIGOUT1, OK. However, also in the KPA500 manual
(page 17), the wiring for a cable between the K3 and the KPA500 does not
Bruce:
Rev B of the Owner's Manual which came with my KPA200 shows
on page 18 that the DIGOUT1 line is maintained in the AUX
Cable. That was indeed the case with the one I received. I
broke off pin 11 in the connector so that I can continue to
use the DIGOUT1 signal to control my PR6 preamp.
to control the PR6 preamp, while using the KPA-500?

According to page 21 of the KPA500 owner's manual, when the Aux Cable is

with the KPA500 the PTT Cable should not be used.

No, actually, that's pin 10 not pin 11.

AFAIK, the only 'downside' is that you need to run the separate PTT cable.

Update:
This was being caused by the PR6 preamp being installed. It was inhibiting
keying of the KPA500.
All is well now...

Hi Tom,
Do you have the Key line interrupter, as described in:

installed? If so, you might try removing it

Hello Iain,
No it's not in line, but I sure thought of putting it in line so I could use the
key line between the amp and the rig.
The amp and the rig are communicating with each other just fine, but the amp
won't key.
Thanks for the help.
