I recently got a mini keyboard that works with the P3/SVGA/Latest Firmware. I
got it from a company in Houston, Texas called Directron
(www.directron.com/akb110b.html). It is a Adesso AKB-110B for $23.99. It is
an 87 Windows Key layout, nice and small (11.75 X 6 X 1 in.) with a 6 ft.
USB cable.
Hi Iain,
Thanks for the message link but while I can view CW, RTTY, and PSK text on
my external monitor, connecting a standard USB Dell keyboard to the P3 does
not permit me to send PSK or RTTY. I tried all of the Data modes and I can
send PSK and RTTY via my paddle but not from a P3 attached
Mike,
Yes, the send function works fine.
Are you using FSK-D or PSK-D Data modes?
Are you seeing the Cap Locks light light up as a test of your keyboard?

Mike,
I guess it's too early in the morning. Of course you are in PSK-D or FSK-D or
you wouldn't be copying data.
So that leaves my question about the Caps Lock light working. Also, do you
have the asterisk showing in the lower right corner of the status box?

Hi Rick,
Yes I've tried PSK-D and FSK-D. And yes the keyboard caps lock light does go
on. I'm not sure what you mean by an asterisk in the status box but no there
is no asterisk on either the large monitor or the P3. I did plug and unplug
the keyboard.
I'm not going to pursue this further as I'm
Mike - It sounds as though you have not read the PDF file that is
contained within the P3/SVGA/USB beta zip file. That explains about the
asterisk under the Status Bar paragraph and all you need to know to get
it working. Read that, Mike, and preferably print it off and you'll be
away.

Hi Dave,
This is very embarrassing. I never saw the PDF file among the other
documents that were extracted from the zipped file. It's quite extensive.
Thanks for pointing that out.

Hi Mike,
If you look on your external display at the very bottom of the screen you
should see a blue status bar. On the left it will show either rx or TX
based on whether the K3 is transmitting or not. On the right there will be
a small asterisk if the SVGA card detects a valid USB keyboard

Hi John,
What functionality is the external keyboard supposed to provide under the
1.05 SVGA firmware? I haven't seen any posts from anybody indicating that
they are using a keyboard. With every other new feature there are usually
numerous posts describing the great new features.

I picked up a PC usb keyboard the other day to get ready for that, and hope

Thankyou

Adrian,
The USB keyboard option is still in development and is designed to work with
most USB keyboards.
