What baud rate is K3 set to? Should be USB if using the USB to USB cable. I don't think the computer will connect to the radio if radio is not ON. You do not use a KUSB with the KIO3B upgrade. You should also get the new P3 "Y" cable to connect the P3 to the K3. Sent from my iPhone

Louis, Do you have the menu RS-232 set to USB? It should be to use the USB connection - see page 63 of the K3S manual. HF-TRN and TRN refer only to the band encoding - see page 21 of the K3S manual. The computer may recognize the K3 USB to serial converter with power off the K3, but
