Both Bob K4TAX and Bill NR4C figured out the problem...
I've been using my K3s for a few years on all bands except 60 meters. So my
original setup was from a long time ago. At that time I set all my active
bands to DATA MD DATA A. When I tried 60 meters for the first time
yesterday to help

wonder if there is some conflict between USB audio and being able to get
Line Out audio on that back panel jack.
Any thoughts?

Well, the mystery is solved.
I had not realized there was an on/off menu choice for the
auto-detect function. Two hams told me about it, and yes,
it did the trick. Now in business, and I can get back to

Fortunately, the storm weakened and struck a little north of us

If you remove the polarizing filter from the front of the LCD panel by
accident, it may be possible to reinstall it successfully. I ordered a
replacement, but while waiting for it to arrive, I figured I had nothing
to lose by trying and now I have the replacement LCD assembly as a
spare.

The $25 KD1JV Tenna-Dipper http://www.4sqrp.com is a lot smaller
than a MFJ-259 and works great for tuning the MP-1. I took mine to
France along with my K2 last spring. Airport security didn't say a
thing, although they ran the bag with the K2 through some sort of
detector.

With Mailman lists, it is possible to subscribe from multiple addresses
