this is mystery code, commented out in halcmd, still present in rtapi_app, and obviously dead since not used elsewhere it seems it was intended to create a new instance of a running component (?) - any good use case to complete the code/bring to action or OK to remove? - Michael ---

Question - I have a build running samco@samco-desktop:~/linuxcnc-beta8real$ git describe v2.5.3-2516-g3f0c527 and it runs steve.ngc with just 2-3 slow downs that I can tell. currently a fresh pull from your repository as of today (v2.5.3-2521-g0c13743) - steve.ngc slows down quite a few spots.
