My thanks to those that have responded. I would like to add
some clarity to my original question.
Sanmina-SCI's EMC reports have routinely been accepted by
BSMI for product modifications and samples were not
required, except where the modifications were extensive.
For recent submittals, we've als
Howdy! Howdy! Howdy!
Happy Friday.
It has been well aired that BSMI now has product safety
requirements for certain products. Perhaps less aired, but
still widely known, BSMI is willing to accept CB Scheme
Certificates and Test Reports issued by NCBs that have

This subject reminds me of a spec I once had for a power supply.
Because part of the power supply subassembly was visible through the back
panel (the IEC inlet connector, fuse holder, and ratings information), the
customer was concerned that a scratched power supply panel would make the
Based upon experience, recommend 16 point type, with the

Hello everyone,
Does anyone have any good articles or website examples of the penalties for
non- conformance for the CE Mark. I especially need examples for EMC
violations to use to stress the seriousness and impact to business for some

We apply EN61000-1 to our products for electrical safety and use various
sizes of markings depending on the size of the product - down to about 8mm
diameter on some products and up to about 40mm on others.
A safety review of the product should identify whether the label size was
appropriate.
