You know...is there a piece of safety testing knowledge to be gained here? Well...actually a couple... First of all...for a product as ubiquitous as a cell phone...you would think that the manufacturer would perform battery short testing...then look for a standard or directive that calls for it.

For the fun of it, I took a look at my cell phone. It does not have a safety mark on it and the battery pack does not have a safety mark on it. A cell phone that has been through a third party certification would have the proper battery protection, but would one that has not been through the third
