Yea I remember that thread. The end result is that the architecture of the EMCO PC Mill 50 is fundamentally incompatible with the architecture of EMC. EMC needs to be in direct control of the motors and etc. The EMCO has electronics inside it that already implement all that with closed loop control

There are different versions. The spindle on some of them can do ridged tapping and I know that at least it has an encoder. I guess my assumption about the other parts could be wrong. Sorry. On Wed, Jun 8, 2011 at 10:59 AM, Peter C. Wallace wrote: > On Wed, 8 Jun 2011, Evan Foss wrote: > >> Date:

Thank you Evan and Peter! I really appreciate any input. I got word back from EMCO they want $1,133.60 for a replacement ISA RS485 board! So, since I can't afford that board. Emulating the board or controlling it another way is not possible, apparently. I will have to retrofit it with new motors

I had one project where it would be cool to tap it via CNC, I have never done that and as I work on this retrofit, I wonder if it would be possible for me to have that capability. What does it require hardware wise? Servo spindle motor? thanks! On Wed, Jun 8, 2011 at 12:42 PM, Jon Elson wrote
