Hi Mark,
I currently have a prototype of ModIP, a TCP/IP modbus slave device that I'm
developing.
I think that Modbus over TCP provides an excellent robust interface for
external I/O devices. The biggest hurdle I'm trying to overcome at the moment
is the form factor. I've gone from a tradition

Thanks Erik,
funny thing that the same question popped up from both me and Eric.
Your answer is clear and educational, as always.

Richard,
this looks to me as if the card shortened the PC data bus partially. The
PCI contacts are very narrow spaced and may almost overlap in height.
Are you sure that the card is inserted correctly and pressed down fully
to the bottom of the socket? Did you try a different socket and a

I hadn't tried to look in the docs yet except deep enough to find that a
loadable subroutine HAD to be in the nc_files directory. I was looking for
the reason that a loadab

I have a friend who is an engineer who sets up laser trackers on those
big mills all over the US. The only way you can maintain .005
tolerances over 50 or 60 feet on a big gantry machine is with a laser
tracker. They do coordinate compensation on the fly.

Erik,
Thanks for the tip, but ultimately that has the same problem. For now I will
just change the file attributes to require a sudo to edit or delete
subroutines. The main purpose was to put them some place where they would
not get accidentally deleted if someone was over zealous in cleaning up t

Is SUBROUTINE_PATH new to 2.5? I just noticed the reference I found was in
the 2.5 version of the Integrator manual, but it does not appear in the 2.4
version. I am currently using 2.4.6 (or is it 2.4.7 reporting that it is
2.4.6). At any rate, I found it through a search, but see tha

Peter,
I was referring to Kirk's not seeing port 1502 after he assigned it in
the loadusr statement, and how the OS handles ports above 1024.

Hi,
Port 502 is assigned to Modbus, so that's what slaves should use by default.
Cheers,
Peter.

My unqualified guess is that 5i25 card is not recognized.
I will leave this for more knowledgeable users to comment.
Do You have a chance to attach the HDD and 5
