What controller are you using? I need one able to handle a 110 volt DC, 1.5HP
treadmill motor. My 9x20 CNC conversion is on hold due to a lack of motor
controller.
For running the saddle I picked up a ball screw linear actuator exactly the
right length. It's pitch is 16mm per turn so I have a
I am running a cnc'd jet 9x20 lathe with a treadmill motor and dc
motor controller with a 5k pot for speed control in manual.
I previously was running the speed controlled from LCNC from the
parport to an opto interupter for isolation from the motor
controller which worked fine.
I was

Motor supplies don't even need to be regulated. Just use a
transformer, rectifier and capacitors.
(transformer might be optional, depending on hardware, both my current

Yes, TO220 7805 or LM8705 but you may be suprised about how much power is
wasted as heat inside it. It is a good idea to do the math before bying.

Yes, indeed, happy new year to all the users, and ESPECIALLY

No improvement with the new PSU?
For the amount of 5V power we are talking about here, surely it would
be easy to make or buy a linear PSU?
