Make a rat trap using a small DB box, a light beam, and EMC to control it

I leave a tiny tub with some rat pellets in it, in one place. I see it
every day, and if the pellets are gone, I know somethings around.

They make spray foam special for anti rodent and insect use. No idea
where you live but around here you can buy a can of it for maybe $7 at
Home Depot. It does not use poison but has some other stuff that
rodents simply will not chew on.It's called "Great Stuff" and
comes in several versions

It may be worth solidly wadding a long plug of glasswool/rockwool before

Today I was piddling around in the shop and I happened to open up the control
console on one of my CNC mills. This is still the OEM control.
Well the mice had climbed up the inside of the 3" square tubing which mounts
the console and they had built quite a nest inside with lots of excess urine
