Ian,
That might just work well. Thanks!

Dave,
The panel mount would be the cleanest. I'd even settle for a
simple, lightweight enclosure to keep the dust and crud out. Right now
I have a hunk of shrink tubing around it and it's taped to the top of my
computer case... ;-)

All the CNC4PC boards I've teste
You could just pop it in a metal box - mount it using one
of the DB25s, make up a short DB25m - DB25f cable and mount
the free end of that to the box adjacent to the first DB25 -
i.e. one under the other. Of course, the other end of the
short cable plugs into the other side of your board.

Hi Mark,
Some of the CNC4PC boards are almost unmountable.. I think he leaves
out the holes to minimize the board space and the cost.. But I sure
wish he would add in a half square inch of extra board space for holes!
I'd pay another dollar or two for holes!
If I wanted to panel mount that

Yeah, that's the one I
Ian,
Yabut... Mount it to what? With the DB25 connectors
mounted on opposite sides like that I can't really mount it inside my
controller box because one side goes to the pendant, and the other
side goes to the parallel port on the computer.

Digi-Key AE1374 from Assmann, this is good for IEEE-1284 (EPP mode)
as well as all other purposes.

I think I just screwed it into the parallel port on the back of the
computer when I tested one. I might have needed a gender changer I can't
remember. Ray was going to send it back but I think he forgot so I'm
just going from memory.

Hi Mark,
I guess they intended you to mount the board using the DB25
connectors - remove the tapped nuts, cut a DB25-shaped hole
in a panel and pop the nuts back to hold the board to the
panel. It the metal of the panel is not too thick - i.e. it
is like the metal strip at the back of a PCI
Ries,
I posted a link in my reply to Dave, which has a picture of the
board with connectors. The problem is the placement of the DB 25
male and female connectors on opposite sides of the board. Probably
makes the design of the pcb easy, but it sure makes it difficult to
mount the durn thi
Dave,
Thanks for the suggestions. Problem with the board the way
it is, is the DB25 connectors are on opposite sides of the board. A
much better design would have had the DB 25 connectors mounted on the
same side, so that you or I could mount the board to the control box
case, and h
I am not sure the shape of the board,
buy you can buy little plastic and metal boxes that have
little slides. You simple slide it into place and put the lid back on.
You could also make from metal or plastic these slides easily yourself.
I wouldn't use glue or tape, because that's just messy.

I don't know why people make boards without holes but here are some
additional ideas...
3M mounting tape? (Available at Walmart) Clips that hold the board by
the edges? Use Electrical tape to tape it to ?? Hot Melt glue ??

Got meself an early birthday gift - and MPG3 and a CNC4PC C22
nterface board to go with so's I can plug it into my second parallel
port. My question is, since there ain't no holes in the board, what
do you guys that have this setup do with the damn C22 board? Stuff
it in a shoe box? Heat shr
