Just a quick note re the changes to doing menus freedesktop style over
the last year.
I often prefer having a custom menu for a couple of reasons.
* Easy access. Usual automatically generated menus are populated with
hundreds of slots I never use anyway, so they just get in the way.
* Custom
I'm also a little curious to learn more about running EFL on embedded
devices. We have a few projects that would run much better with a much
lighter interface.

Did some testing with this - managed to work out how to get additional
fonts recognised as Sans style fallbacks by fontconfig and then set
up E17 to use Sans across the board, but its a bit of a fiddle.
I remember once getting fallbacks going with the fallback setting in
the E17 font
I suspect perhaps this is the same reason that I can't get xmodmap to
committ and save keysymbol settings (for multimedia keys) inbetween the
entrance login and the e17 startup.
Currently the logs indicate they get set, but are lost by the time e17 has
finished loading.

evas_object_del. they
are flagged for deletion but left there, they will be deleted next
evas_render() cycle when it no longer needs the state for deleted

What exactly are the issues that cause difficulty with Eterm and UTF-8?
I've had it rendering without a problem using the old ISO's for a while
but has been a bit of a mystery to me. Is it solvable and how difficult
is the solution?
