Ubuntu automagically translate ACPI events into Xkeyboard events, and
produce an x event each time a system button is pressed. If you are
using ubuntu just use xev to determine what is the x key that
corresponds to the power button and bind it to the system dialog. If

I ask e17 not to cover gadgets when maximizing but if I maximize a
window that already partially covers a gadget or a shelf the window
gets extended to the screen edge, completely covering the gadget.

I cant get evolume in a usable state. I have succesfully compiled and
installed it, but when I enable it the panel on the desktop is empty
and the configuration windows shows no available mixers at all.
Maybe my alsa configuration is broken, but alsamixer (and xmms) is
working fine... aum
It has happened to me too, usually when closing a window on another
workspace; xkill was enough to get rid of the zombie 'though.

*nix philosophy is: small specialized tools, e17 does not manage
icons, but you can try rox or any other icon manager.
I'd suggest you also take a look at evidence (the e file manager), it
can be used to manage your desktop and show the content of a folder

I do not think this is an e17 issue, since ctrl-alt- keys work on
my debian sid laptop, but I had a similar problem when I upgraded fron
xfree to xorg, it was caused by the wrong keybord layout if I remember
correctly, search within the debian bug reports.
