Do you really /need/ it?
I got used to this feature during my e16

Actually, I've got edge flip disabled, but it still works that way
when I'm dragging a window. I think that works out pretty well.

Edge flip is the most annoying feature in E (well, not considering the
tooltips in e16). It drives m

I can understand your concerns you have about changing the behaviour in
e17, in fact, I don't want the behaviour

Raster,
Thanks for the detailed reply and the intangibility of implementing
such a virtual desktop model. I see the problem weird offscreen
positions pose, but I don't see why that's necessary at all.
What if you implement the logic in the screen change event? E.g.,
when moving to desktop2, chec

Ben, Andrew,
Thanks for the replies. I just got home from work (I was on win xp
there), and played around some more with dragging windows, and they
can be dragged off a desktop just fine, so please disregard my
comments about that ;)
I'm going to get the newest version from CVS today and try to
This already happens, in the newest version of E17 you can set backgrounds for specific desktops, I know I have 8 desktops right now and about 5 different images. The only downside is that with 1600x1200 backgrounds, this feels a little laggy (though it might be the animation that changes the bac
Hi everyone,
I'm new to this list, but I'd like to say that I also would find this
feature very useful. I've first installed E17 about a week ago, and
been studying the code base. Maybe in the future I can also
contribute some features I miss from E16.

Hi.. I just want to say that I understand you
completly.
If I had the time I'll gladly give you a hand coding
it, but for what I can tell, I'll be busy for some
time. If you start coding though, please keep in
touch, just in case I can do something to help.

I asked the exact same thing a couple of months ago.
Take a look of what it was posted. I don't know if
anything more was said about it.

Having a window split across two desktops was a feature of e16 that is not in e17. From the archives:http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/message.php?msg_id=13654260

Hi everybody!
I've got a small problem with the virtual desktops in e17.
Say I have 5x5 virtual desktops. In the pager, they are shown in a
rectangle, and I can switch between them, so far so good.
Now I have a window on one of the desktops, I'm moving this window to
the right border of the deskt
