As I write there are three of them for sale on ebay for about $20 per.
I had one but became impatient with the small viewfinder image, so I sold
it.

Not me. I looked at the comparisons on dpreview too, and didn't see much
difference. The writer really had to stretch and strain to make the 10D
sound like progress.
There are 3 major factors that could in time make me wa
That definitely doesn't look like a body to upgrade to from the D60.

If money's an issue, it's pretty easy. Go for the 420EX. If you're only
using 1 flash, there's no difference 98% of the time. The 2% is when
you're really reaching to shoot something far away and you need the bit

My list will be:

24-70 2.8L (the new one that's just coming out...ideal for the D60)
135 2.0L (ideal for anything since it's such a superb lens...I already

It's a holdover from the days when people in studios, or who were doing
critical close-up work, tried to achieve precision focus by measuring
the distance from the subject to the film plane with a tape measure and
then setting the lens accordingly, rather than using a built-in focusing
facility in

Yup. Assuming they could add the length and keep approximately the same
level of optical excellence as the 28-70 2.8L (a tall order), I would
upgrade for that lens too. We'd probably have to buy a few 82mm
I agree with you. I've got the 28-70L, and there's no reason to sell and
replace it with this new lens. I don't shoot in the rain very much, and
as far as optical quality goes, the new one simply *can't* be that much
better because the current one is already so good. I can see that it

This snippet from a wire service summary of Kodak's most recent

of this decline is just "the economy, stupid", but plenty of it is the

I think the real issue with pro digital is the difference in maturity
between the two technologies.
Rollei and Nikon and Canon and Hasselblad can--and do--wait years to
release new models of pro film cameras, because the film technology
changes very slowly (if at all), and the camera bodies and l

I chose Canon equipment many years ago because I started looking
through a Photography Buyer's Guide and Canon came first in the alphabet

Though I've never tried it, according to the 550EX manual you can do the
sort of thing you're talking about-- wireless manual flash using a flash
meter--with the 550EX as your master or only light. But I d

All of the above will work. The ST-E2 will give you most flexibility
in moving lights around. ST-E2 with another 420EX is least costly

Adding a 550EX alone will give you l

Is it true that, when used as a master in a wireless multi-flash system,
