I was just trying to get 2.6.6. to treat the Promise card the way 2.4.20 did.
It's not to be, I'm afraid.
Now it's off to my next project.

That's what I did. BLK_DEV_PCD202XX_NEW sees the card but not the drives.
BLK_DEV_PDC202XX_OLD sees the card and the drives but not the fact that they
are mirrored. IDEDMA_PCI_AUTO is set in either case. I'll stay with 2.4.20,
for now.

If you are on softraid I'd make sure you didn't compile in

support for the chipset as just an IDE controller. Then add in
support for software raid and raid 1. While you check that I'll
grab the latest 2.6 for my Slack box and see what I ca

I met Linus coming out of a restroom once. I said "hi" and he just
smiled and nodded. It wasn't until after he was past me that I

The restroom was at LinuxWorldExpo 1999, San Jose
I hate Promise controllers.
Is there good data on the drives? If not, then I suggest you
configure a software RAID. If there is, then you might want to stay
on kernel 2.4.20 until you can migrate the data off the promise and
onto a "dumb" IDE controller configured with a software RAID0.
