Thanks Larry,
Unfortunately, neither file is in that directory or listed in the
whereis. Yes, I ran updatedb to make sure.
Any other thoughts? Is there a tool that I can use besides the
XF86config tool??? I was hoping for something in the gui.
Thanks again

there is either an xorg.conf (modern) or XFree86.conf (old school) file
that needs a modeline.

Greetings all,
Ok, I managed to get Debian to play pretty well with my system. The only

Anyone care to share where the config file is or a config utility for

Nyal,
If you want to send plaintext email you might try
Tools->Settings->Composer Preferences and uncheck the "Format messages
in HTML" box.
I generally also set the HTML Mail tab in the Tools->Settings->Mail
Preferences to only load images from people in my address book on

Ubuntu (or Kubuntu or similar) should give you more bells-n-whistles, as well as easier hardware support,as well as offering a lot of the debian standards.Yes, yesterday was the right time to backup your important files!! I have a client whose backup drive just failed,

The fundamental problem that you have have with T1 + DSL is that while
you might be able to get routing tables from your T1 vendor, you are very very
very
unlikely to get them from your DSL provider.
If you had two t1 lines, the classic solution is to get routing tables and to
run BGP.

Is there a way to get the Mandriva Control center to look at sites on

I don't think you mean wget.
Wget is a tool for downloading a file from a website.
If you have a package system, then you would use that instead. And the
package system knows about dependencies.
if you have a debian based system like Ubuntu, then this is called apt-get
you can say:

Hi,
I have a client with a T1 and a DSL. I would like to split the traffic
between them. For example, email comes in the DSL and web traffic comes
in the T1. I found it's more complicated than just adding another
default route to the server which has only one NIC.
I'm open to suggestions.

Greetings all,
I am wanting to use wget to install some packages on my computer. How do
I find the repository for using wget?
It is my impression that wget will not only grab the package that you
are wanting, but also any packages that are dependencies as well. Is
this the case?
