The conduit is called "MemoFile".
Bill,
That problem usually arises from an old wombat still running after an
upgrade. Close Evolution, from a terminal run killev and oaf-slay. That
should solve the problem.

Oh, I don't know anything about that. Someone else mentioned (in this
thread) something about libungif or some such, and Not Zed suggested
maybe you need to upgrade gtkhtml, but I think that's probably not the
case if you're only having trouble with .gif files. Sorry, I personally

Through something approaching dumb luck (or good design), I got my Palm
synched.
I seem to be missing the Notes function under Evo (if there is one).
Calendar, tasks, and contacts came up beautifully. Checking the conduit
settings reveals there's no apparent conduit. This one isn't me, right?
attached is a patch.

That's really wierd... anyways, glad the problem is solved now.
Btw, for kicks I tried to send a message without a to/cc/bcc address and
was unable to do so (Evolution popped up an error dialog saying I needed
to specify at least 1 recipient). Until I did that, it wouldn't queue
the message in the
Now the question comes of...how did Evolution queue a message with no
recipients? For that matter, how did it lose the recipients when it was
nothing more than a reply to a message on the list, which should have
automatically brought the addresses over from the message it was a reply
to?

Well, I stand corrected. Evolution is not sending a RCPT TO: command to
the SMTP server, however I don't see how that is possible if the message
contains recipients in the To: and/or Cc: headers.
Does it? Did you specify any recipients?
Can you paste the header(s) of the messages you are trying t

Regarding Aaron's questions:
The only firewall running on my system is the default firewall installed by
Red Hat. The only changes I've made since installing Evolution 1.2.1 (to
replace the 1.0.8 version that Red Hat installed with RH8.0) are the ones
that came from running Up2Date immediately

i have used following settings, and there where no errors with
executing, but i have still errors at weather function in the Summary,
and so forth.

Yo!
I use filtering on the server (procmail), but some filters are in
evolution (and need to be). Is there a way to have the filter apply
automatically to all new messages? There's only a 'apply filter to new
msgs in INBOX' checkbox in evo (1.2.1).
thanks

Well, if I was to hazard a guess based on a similar complaint in the past... I'd say that your server doesn't like it when Evolution re-EHLO's the SMTP server after a successful SASL authentication sequence. In other words... your server is a hunk of crap and is not rfc compliant (see http://ww

Title: Evolution 1.2.1 on RH8.0...
Hi-
I'll try
again here. I'm getting pretty frustrated with evo- I have yet to get
a fully working version of this program on my machine at home. I tried
1.0.8 which cam with my RH8.0 distribution. I could read mail fine,
but not compose, so that was usel

Unfortunately, it appears that the SSL connection is not the solution to the
problem, either. I reset my connection to never use SSL, killed and restarted
Evolution, and got the exact same error:
Data response error: Need Rcpt command

1.2.1 has been uploaded to unstable a few days ago. However, it is not
currently buildable, and so probably isn't available on all
