Well I figure it this way. Take the Net part and assign a number to each letter according to it's place in the alphabet so Net corresponds to 14-5-20. Now multiply that 14*5*20 and you get 1400 so as you can see .net will be a step down from what were used to. Probably due to more bloat.

Perfmon should also reveal whether the SAN is somehow slowing things down. I know a SAN is supposed to be faster but that can depend on how it was configured in the first place. I've seen a SAN being demoed that was significantly slower than it should have been. After tuning the block sizes to
