and I have not been able to find where to do this, I know how to do it
in Exchange 5.5, however 2000 does not appear to have this feature

If you are only having problems with PDF attachments - look at your virus
software. I remember reading something last week about a PDF extension
virus.

There are a number of rules (5). They are just there
to manage the flow of emails coming in. Basically looking
for key words in the sender's address or keywords in the
subject and/or body...
For example, I have a dozen rules for all our lists. Works
fine for me, but sadly not for this poor chap.

disable the SMTP Fixup and simply do a conduit to the exchange server.
