Figures since that's exactly how it works...;-) If you set an externalURL
Exchange thinks you are telling it that the server is externally available
and will try and hand out/redirect the user to that URL instead of
proxying. Here's a great article about how it all works. I had to read it

If you have SMTP relaying enabled for authorized SMTP, then your AD account
passwords are weak and have been guessed, allowing authorized relay.

In my experience with the iPhone, they change their IP almost every time
they connect to the cellular network. Also, what's the reason behind
having them connect using SMTP as opposed to using the ActiveSync in the
2.0+ firmware? It works just as well, plus they get their calendar and
contacts.

the att iphones here and it's IP address belongs to Verizon? The ip
addresses only share the class A portion of 71.
