OpenRetryDelay of 0x800 here with no problems (touch wood).
The
default set by the GroupShield install is plain wrong.

NAV with exchange 5.5. Once we setup the NAV to do background scanning the
problem you have went away. We were able to keep the MAPI/VAPI mode
running. With only the MAPI mode running on NAV you can get some virus'

occasionally get a rash of NDRs for messages going between the servers. I
think someone here had an open call with Trend who pointed the finger at the
AVAPI. From what I've read, the one in 55 is so buggy that I'm thinking of

Our implementation of NAV for EXCHANGE SERVER 5.5 has the exact same issues using the VAPI option.. we switched to MAPI Only and all problems went away.

We were experiencing problems with our user's Outlook encountering Operation Failed errors. Once we increased the Open Retry Delay setting on the Exchange server, it seemed to alleviate the problem. We do see the error every so often with very large attachments
