If you have AV on the server try cycling the AV service. If that doesn't correct it, rebooting may help.

The most expensive memory is that which remains unused. Exchange will sue
as much RAM as it needs and/or can.
For 60 users, I would keep the other apps on a separate box.
Using dynamic buffer allocation, exchange will cede RAM to other apps that
need it; hoever, if you still feel performance

IF you have NAV for Server(Corp. Edition) you should EXCLUDE the EXCHSRVR directory. Your getting file contention wit the DB files. It's a known issue with most ALL Server ANTI-VIRUS Solutions.

The only software is Exchange 2000 but we do use it as a shared network
drive. We have about 100 clients that use it. The cpu is a PII 600 with
1GB RAM. It of course does get backed up each night but the BackupExec is
not loaded on this server.
