Hello
Two days ago I installed Mandrake 6.0 and Its great, except my
soundcard is playing hard to get. I have used this soundcard with

As of RH6 and this install of Mandrake 6 I get these red errors at boot

Hello,
I am trying to use a SUN GDM 1962 monitor with

Next question: Has anyone got Mandrake 6.0 with 2.2.9-27mdk kernel to
work with VMware 1.02. Everytime I attempt to start the virtual

VMware can be made to work with the 2.2.9-27mdk kernel, IF you compile your
own. It won't work with the 'out of the box kernel' from the mandrake
mirrors.
The same counts for the 2.2.10 kernel series in the cooker distro

Any clue what you need to change when you compile it yourself (i.e. leave
some options out?)
Yes but you can rig up a serial link (better yet a parallel link) with
spare speaker wire and get better than floppy speeds with out the floppy
inconvienence.

Hello list.
Does anybody have a configuration file for the 2.2.9 kernel tht comes
with Mandrake 6.0 ? I'd like to rebuilt it with new options/modules, but
I'd also like to avoid the loss of other settings.
Thanks.

heuu, forgot, just wanted to tell you guys at mandrake what a great job you
are doing (I know, it's off topic, but hey, can't help myself to be
grateful).
Keep it up. You made me discover Linux, you made me enjoy it.

I recently upgraded my good-old PC from RedHat 6 to
Mandrake 6. Fortunately, little of my previous config was modified and i
kept much of the important files i had. Due to the good feeling i got
from the Mandrake's distro, i also re-installed from the same Mandrake
CD another machine
Could be worse - until I got my Linux modem I had to dwnld via NT into a 'swap
space' of FAT16 and then reboot into Linux. Dreadful!! Of course, that was on
just one puter.
