I to had the same problem. However, even after editing the /etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit file and deleting the unwanted icons from /etc/skel/Desktop the Autostart and Templates icons still kept coming back. The others stayed gone. Haven't figured out why this is occurring but when I do I'll post the

Yesterday, using the same install media and procedures, I installed a system with 256 MB of RAM, but Mandrake only sees 64 MB. Linux _used_ to always only see the first 64MB. I don't know what they did to fix it (on some systems). There's an option you can give at the boot
