I have a Supra ISA Diamond Express 56K internal modem. It is PNP. It never just "worked" in Redhat nor MD6 or 6.1. I kept getting an eight byte overlap conflict with me soundcard. The only way I got it to work was to remove both the soundcard and modem, boot up Linux and then shutdown Linux.
