I had the same problem with LM8 and an USB printer. I ended up fixing it in a roundabout way, since I had problems with IRQ sharing (a SCSI card and sound card was sharing an IRQ with the USB port, and the sound card gave me staticly sound, and the SCSI card was giving me parity errors). I
