Since I installed Mandrake 8.2 two days ago (and then stayed up many hours
playing frozen-bubble :), konqueror has been unable to display .gif images,
and my desktop background images don't display. I tried using konqueror and
setting a desktop back

I wonder if you are having an interrupt conflict of some sort that didn't show
up before? Can you try moving some stuff around to free up that interrupt?

First of all I try the installation with this ps2 wheel mouse attached
to the computer and no mouse appeared in the installation and of course
not option to install it.

i think it wouldnt match the current date no matter
what you do ;-)

Due to a bug in the ide driver, I need to pass 'pci=conf2' or 'pci=off' at
the command prompt when booting Mandrake 8.2.
I have tried different way of installing it, including (CDROM, Hard Disk,
network, pcmcia) and all halted at:
in second stage install
install exited abnormally :-(
