I need to use the 0.9 beta drivers for my card (Delta 66) as it is
multi-channel and not handled properly by the 0.5.x set which are
included in the distro. I had these working in 8.1, but under 8.2 on
running configure for the driver I get:

Are you sure your sound card has midi sequencer? Many onboard cards have
audio only. Run harddrake to configure your sound card, and see if the
recognised driver is (audio only) or (audio).

I've got a PCMCIA Clik! (Pocket Zip) drive in my laptop. Under Mandrake
8.0 it was recognized properly on boot, and worked wonderfully. It
still works wonderfully, but only after I eject and reinsert it. On
boot, it isn't recognized.
Anybody have any ideas on how to solve this?

Thanks to your help I solved my problem;
those are the packages used:
1) To download mp3/ogg files from the net:
LOPSTER; compiled 1.1 release; runing fine
2) To rip track of an audio cd: grip + lame
+ cdparanoia
3) Transform mp3 to wav: xmm with the
xmms-diskwriter plugin
Actually i managed to figure it out. A lot of the problems i'm having right
now are simple things that i can (and probably should, for the learning
experience) figure out on my own. It's just a matter of picking up those C
books and flipping to the "pointers" section. =)

Hello everybody. I have a problem. I can't mount my NTFS with write
permisions. This is the command that I am sending:
mount -t ntfs -o rw /dev/hda1 /mnt/windows/
I tried all the variants.. but i can't get to write to the disk. Is this
possible...Can anyone help me here, please.

situation as I understand it:
1. RW access to NTFS is considered unsafe and experimental
2. By default the system will only allow root rw access
3. Lots of people seem to use rw anyway :-)

AFAIK It amounts to NTFS turning the files you write into ga
